Overview
GP-Host is a relatively new hosting provider, which provides full-featured Linux hosting. GP-Host is a subsidiary of Gluepoint LLC. The company prides itself on having a large referral rate from existing customers. GP-Host needed a solution that would allow them to credit referrals to their affiliate clients, while using their affiliates to build a robust brand image in the crowded hosting market. After a complete study of all existing affiliate program solutions, it was clear that a large gap exists in the product market. GP-Host needed a cost-effective solution, which was also full-featured. These requirements eliminated expensive hosted services like Commission Junction and feature-limited Open Source software. As a result, GP-Host turned to Shedd Technologies International for the development of a custom solution.
Target Audience
The main target audience was IT & Internet Professionals who needed an efficient, feature-packed interface that integrated seamlessly with the existing services and software, which were in place at GP-Host. However, our design team took into account that some of the potential users of this system might be corporate personnel with limited Internet experience and restricted to corporate computing platforms and web browsers. As such, we designed an intuitive, cross-browser compatible interface, which would appeal to all user-groups.
Solution Details & Deliverables
Shedd Technologies International recently completed the design, development, and integration work for the complete affiliate program management solution and then delivered the requested solution.
The development process was a meticulous process. The client monitored our work via our comprehensive online project management facility and via daily and weekly conferences. This was done to ensure that every aspect of the custom solution was designed to meet the client’s expectations. Even after the system design had concluded and the development work began, we maintained our constant communication with our client to ensure mutual success. Finally, the client’s thorough review of the work confirmed that our team has successfully created a product, which met all of the client’s expectations in regard to integration capabilities and features.
Built with the popular PHP language and using industry-standard MySQL as the database backend, Shedd Technologies International was able to create a rock-stable system. The application’s framework was designed and developed to promote flexibility – to allow additional modules to be added as the client’s needs grew with their business. The system was integrated into the existing GP-Host client billing and account management software, powered by ModernBill.

We were able to develop and implement an entire custom solution very cost-effectively. Savings to GP-Host are estimated at thousands of dollars per year, which can now be devoted to building their online brand image and their business. As a result, both our client and our team feel that we succeeded in achieving our goals in all aspects of this project.
